Stump Grinding

Stump Grinding

After tree removal the trunk is typically cut low to the ground or occasionally left a little higher for planters or tabletops.  Sometimes our customers prefer to have the stump removed.  Removal is achieved not by pulling the stump out of the ground but rather "grinding" with a special machine called a "stump cutter" or commonly called "stump grinder".

This can be a bit of a messy process but paves the way for level ground and grass planting leaving no trace of previous tree.  Below you will find a few different ways we can provide this service.

Our Stump Grinding Process

One or two people from our team will typically handle our stump grinding jobs.  We use a 37-horsepower stump cutter that is capable of fitting through a traditional sized fence gate.  Once positioned at the stump and before grinding begins, we assess the site to ensure safety and prevent property damage from flying debris.  We create barriers to protect fragile or delicate areas on site as needed. The "grindings" are left behind or completely removed based on customer's preference.
